  • 1 cup red lentils
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric


  1. 1) Boil the water in a kettle
  2. 2) Measure out one cup of red lentils and place in a sauce pan
  3. 3) Pour boiling water with the lentils and let cook until lentils are soft
  4. 4) Add salt, cumin, and turmeric and stir
  5. 5) Add water until desired consistency
